THE CHALLENGE

In an increasingly globalized world, local communities can often become disconnected, under-resourced, and ignored. These communities need leaders to refocus on what really matters: building a better future for everyone.

We were tasked by Wipro, a global technology services and consulting company, to revitalize and relaunch their biggest employee engagement event of the year, the Spirit of Wipro Run, while igniting their brand purpose of Ambitions Realized in support of the local communities they operate in. After a hiatus during the pandemic, where the event existed only virtually, reintroducing it in person with reinvigorated energy and a community focus while maintaining its rich heritage was crucial to Wipro’s objectives.

OUR SOLUTION

We worked with the Wipro team to build a community-focused strategy rooted in their brand purpose: helping communities realize their ambitions. While Wipro is a global company, this strategy was developed to be applied locally so each office could authentically activate the Spirit of Wipro Run 2023 for their employees, their communities, and local nonprofits.

Additionally, we managed the delivery and rollout for five marquee Spirit of Wipro Run events and a local ‘race in a box’ toolkit for each. On October 8, 2023, the five marquee events took place in Bengaluru, Dubai, London, Mountain View, and New Jersey.

We worked closely with the local Wipro offices responsible for the marquee runs to accommodate their specific requirements, limitations, opportunities, and local customs. We worked on venue sourcing—such as partnering with the Bengaluru Marathon and Dubai Parks and Resorts—hiring and coordinating on-the-ground partners and third-party vendors, setting up and managing the global registration system and event budgets, and overseeing day-of-event implementation. In the end, each Spirit of Wipro Run was completely unique and personalized to its community.

THE IMPACT

The Spirit of Wipro Run was a huge success across the globe.

Bringing in a record number of participants, all funds raised by sign-ups were matched by Wipro and donated to the selected nonprofit partners. Participants included Wipro employees along with their friends and families, customers, and local partners. The Spirit of Wipro Run was truly a group effort for the community, by the community.

“Ambitions Realized” is Wipro’s deeply held belief and commitment to inspire and ignite personal and professional growth, helping individuals and communities set intentions and reach their goals for a better tomorrow. We were proud to help realize these ambitions through the Spirit of Wipro Run events.
